National Fried Chicken Day is upon us! So, naturally we had to pair our delicious waffles with some crispy fried chicken to make the ultimate, most outrageous, finger-lickin’ good chicken and waffles. It’s simple, it’s easy and it’s sure to leave you satisfied this July 6th.  All it takes is some fried chicken, sweet hot maple glaze and our waffles, of course!

Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to put these components together:

Step 1: Go to 7-eleven and buy our Buttery Vanilla waffles.  If your 7-eleven doesn’t carry them, feel free to use our waffles found in other locations.  Once you get the waffles, this will become the base of your chicken and waffle dish!

Step 2: Ain’t no thang but a chicken wang!  Use your favorite pre made, or recipe for, fried chicken because it can’t be national fried chicken day without some fried chicken!

Step 3: Pour some sweet hot maple glaze on meeee.  This is the fun part! In a saucepan combine:

1 cup of honey

1 cup of maple syrup

½ teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of pepper

1 teaspoon of chili powder

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of paprika

1 teaspoon of onion powder

½ teaspoon of cayenne

Bring these ingredients to a boil until the honey and syrup is combined and the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 4: Create the tastiest math equation ever! WaffleWaffle + fried chicken + sweet hot maple glaze = heaven! Start by layering the waffles down first.  Next, place your chicken on top of waffles. Finally, drizzle that warm glaze all over the chicken and waffles.  Have fun with this step! You can turn this into a chicken and waffle sandwich, pile it high to make the leaning tower of chicken and waffles, or cut the waffles and chicken into bite size pieces for a yummy one bite snack! Any way you choose, you’ll be sure to make your mouth and tummy very happy!
